Allison krause dating
Recorded on their Spring 2002 tour, this is Alison Krauss Union Station's first live recording.
It features galvanizing performances of songs from Now That I've Found You, New Favorite, and O Brother, Where Art Thou?
Second time through, Dan, Ron and Barry join in harmony and so on through the remaining two choruses –no instrumental backing, just voices.
(Krauss joined Ricky Skaggs and Doc Watson to sing the same song on The Three Pickers album, one of my favorite C&W albums.) The album closes with a ballad, “There Is a Reason,” Krauss singing backed by the two guitarists singing harmony, and the whole band joining in on instruments.

Krauss may have been the lead figure in this group but all five musicians –drummer Atamanuik is added on some cuts-- were star quality performers in their own right and, even better, they listened to each other when they played.
The result is lively, melodious music making with a good deal of variety, supportive ensemble work, and some killer solos. —are solid and Jerry Douglas’s dobro work is outstanding.

Don't let the "drive" criticism scare you away though, this is a great recording and even though it is a bit country it retrains one foot in bluegrass.
with her longtime collaborators Union Station, which won the GRAMMY Award for Best Bluegrass Album and topped Billboard’s Folk, Country and Bluegrass charts, Alison began to feel the tug of inspiration. No outside food or beverage are permitted for this performance.
She's perfect, for example, as the melancholy temptress on "Let Me Touch You for Awhile," coming across as both savior and seductress, while Jerry Douglas's Dobro echoes the searing strains of passion and pain.
With banjoist-guitarist Ron Block, bassist Barry Bales, and guest drummer Larry Atamanuik anchoring the rhythm, the ensemble deftly blends bluegrass with jazz, rock, and folk, combining lightning speed (though rushing through "Forget About It") with sophisticated chops, tangible emotion, and thrilling vocal blends.
